Golf is a hobby that takes up a lot of my time, from my humble golfing roots of a weekend hacker playing (in a social sense) a small number of public courses in Essex. I now play very regular golf in Western Australia through the Perth Golf Network, I am also an overseas member of Romford GC in Essex. I have played a large variety of golf courses both public and private in England, Australia and New Zealand and my golf clubs go with me whenever I travel. I have played every golf course in Metropolitan Perth and the South West of WA. Every now and then I play to my handicap!

The Moonah Links (Open) course has some of the best greens I have ever played on they were phenomenal, so pure, so quick and so unforgiving. They say you use your putter...

Someone in the know recently told me that 'Essex' lacked the quality courses the you would find to the west of London, a trip to Romford Golf Club proves them wrong. A ve...
The Western Australian Golf Club offers up some of the best defended greens in WA. The course also gives you some of the best views of Perth CBD. The course is immaculate...
Paraparaumu is in a league of its own in and around Wellington. This is a truly outstanding golf course that in my humble opinion deserves its place in the World Top 100....
It is a few months since I travelled down to Albany and played this course, but it is definitely worth a good review. Albany serves up Australian links golf to a good deg...
This is a good track that is undone by the upkeep. Araluen could be one of the best, as course design goes it is up there. The use of the rolling hills is great, the chan...
The challenge of a nine hole course is serving up the second nine so you don't feel you have just repeated the first, Sea View does this well, with varied tee positions a...

On the drive down to the Cut you pass many better courses, the Cut is worth a visit but I would be surprised if you chose to return. It serves up links golf in spectacula...
On the drive down to Binningup from Perth the brooding sky was ominous, the wind sheer on the road should have given us a clue of what was to come, but the first is well...
