I have played 714 different golf courses, of which I consider 450 of them worth playing if in the area. I don't chase "lists" but I look at them to see whether a course worth playing is nearby on my travels. I have my own rating system and have ranked every course I have played and recorded every score since 1993. My golf bucket list is to play in every state in the USA (43 so far). I lived in England from 1993-1998 and am a member of a club in Scotland so I continue to go every year to the U.K or Ireland. I have played in Australia, Canada, Germany, Ireland, Mexico, New Zealand, Portugal, Singapore, Tunisia, UK and the USA but have yet to play in Japan or the Caribbean.
I played the Country Club of Charleston on 11/6/2019 for the first time following a round the previous day at Yeamans Hall Club. Both golf courses were designed by Seth...
I played the Yeamans Hall Club for the second time on 11/5/2019. Due to the rain in the morning, we saw standing water on two fairways as we arrived. In addition, we we...
I played Secession Golf Club on November 4, 2019. The golf course was originally intended to be designed and completed by Pete Dye, but Mr. Dye shifted his focus to The...
I played the Kiawah Island Club River course on 11/3/2019. Tom Fazio often gets criticized for “cookie-cutter” designs but I did not find that to be the case at the Kiaw...
My favorite course at Streamsong is the Blue course, designed by Tom Doak. The course is consistent and builds throughout to a terrific set of finishing holes. It also...
I played Riverfront today (November 2, 2019) with two people, a friend and a person paired with us whose “ringer” score at the course is -26 (one ace, one albatross, and...
This Arnold Palmer and Ed Ault designed golf course is a prime example of all that is wrong with the venues chosen when Europe hosts the Ryder Cup. The European-hosted R...
Druids Glen is a well-maintained parkland course located south of Dublin designed by Pat Ruddy and Tom Craddock. At times it feels like you are walking in an arboretum h...
I played Vila Sol Prime and Challenge the same week I played San Lorenzo several years ago. At the time I had not played many of the world’s top golf courses, and I was...
I played the San Lorenzo course many years ago, before I had played so many of the world’s best golf courses. I had a favorable impression of the golf course designed by...
I first played here in December, 1994 and then returned 20 years later. The first time was after a company meeting held in Lisbon and the second was during a company mee...
Due to rain and ultimately very strong winds, (supposedly just below category 1 of a hurricane) I was unable to get the look that I wanted at the White Witch. We started...
I played the St Leon course, designed by Dave Thomas, a few years back. This is the course used for the 2015 Solheim Cup. It is in very good condition and is an okay go...
The Dunes at Diamante, a design by Davis Love III, for me was the best course I have played in Mexico. A lot of people criticize Diamante Dunes for being included in the...
This Greg Norman design is flat and was in very good condition located about 20 minutes north of Cancun. Take your sunscreen here as the sun is relentless. There is one...
In my notes I made of Querencia I summed it up as “a very fine golf course with many good golf holes, but no “wow” holes. There are “wow” views and “wow” vegetation. I...
There are certain courses you could not put enough money in front of me to play again. Quivira is one of those courses.I can understand and accept the attraction for oth...
I played the Ocean course at Cabo del Sol twice, once with a friend at 6340 yards and then again from 6815 yards. The second round I was a single and stood on the 7110 t...
In February, 2019 I finally was able to play Kingston Heath and I played it twice. The first time I played with two members, one a former tour pro, and the second was pa...
Warning: This might be the longest “review” ever as I was so impressed with the West course at The Royal Melbourne Club. I was at Royal Melbourne on four separate days...
