I live in central Scotland and am a teacher. I have played around 300 courses in my native land and enjoy seeking out hidden gems. Like other reviewers I take my camera on to the links and have built up an extensive photo collection. This is a great solace throughout Scottish winters as it serves as a reminder that the sun will indeed shine again and long days in shirt-sleeves in beautiful places are around the corner. I am a modest golfer with a handicap of 14. Aspirations to get this down have taken a hit with the arrival of four little grandsons in the past couple of years. I can't wait to get them out on a golf course. Hopefully they will all be better players than their Granpa but, more importantly, they will all derive the same pleasure from treading the sacred golfing places of Scotland. St Andrews, Carnoustie, Muirfield, Turnberry, Dornoch, Cruden Bay, Gullane... May they all mean as much to them as they have done to me.
