I've played golf for around 40 years now, mainly around GB&I but have travelled extensively in the last 15 years to play and have had a great time. Coastal golf remains my favourite style of course and would always be my first choice, in saying that a recent visit to The Links at Fancourt, South Africa gave an instant entry to my personal top 5. Must have played close to 1,000 courses now and love sharing my thoughts on the Top 100 website, which is the best source around to research courses and opinions.
I first played at Adare Manor eleven years ago and the holes along the River Maigue (15th and 18th) were memorable but the course then was good but not great. My visit in...
All I can do is echo what has been said before. True quality from start to finish, not the jaw dropping stunning views like Turnberry, Old Head and Kingsbarns - but this...
Ridiculously good… I was there on opening day in June and the promise of playing something special was delivered with ease. 14 years in the making and holes shaped throug...
Without a doubt a great world-ranked golf course but a visit to Muirfield covers so much more than just the course. This is about tradition, high standards, long lasting...
As you get older, there is a perception that time passes quicker and quicker with every year – I can only agree with that as it is already two years since the opening of...
Just occasionally a course exceeds expectations in abundance - Coombe Hill has done just that during my first visit recently.
The course has been around forever and cele...

After my first visit to Valderrama back in 2008 and five more rounds since then, I think my latest in March 2019 gave me the total satisfaction that I had always wanted h...
Only one word for this place - stunning ! This is an absolute beaut. New course (under 10 years) but this looks perfect. The attention to detail is very high and it is a...

Wow – what a golf course. This is the real deal and it is where Tiger and his pals practice before the Open Championship each year. I have been fortunate enough to play m...
Some courses have an aura about them which will always remain – the Old course at Sunningdale is in this category. The whole experience is just wonderful from start to fi...
Great anticipation ahead of playing here as I had heard and read some great opinions over the last year or so since opening. First thing to mention is that if you are sta...
Where do you start? This course will host the 2012 US Open so expectations were sky-high on arrival - for the record, all of these were met in bundles. From the pro-shop,...
This is a refreshing change to what is expected down on the Belek coastline. A typical course in the area can be described as holiday golf (albeit on some very good cours...
The Hills course is very highly ranked and rightly so. Everything here from the clubhouse, the service and the course are near to perfect. This is a very classy venue ind...
One of the truly great conditioned courses that I have played. Hardly a blade of grass out of place and for me the best greens in Dubai. Dubai Creek is unlike the Emirate...
Some courses have an aura about them (St Andrews, Wentworth, Loch Lomond, Turnberry, Augusta etc.) the Old course at Sunningdale sits comfortably in this category. The wh...
After playing many courses around Europe, the biggest thrill for me is for a course to exceed expectations after my first visit. Well that is what happened at the Corneli...
