I've played golf for around 40 years now, mainly around GB&I but have travelled extensively in the last 15 years to play and have had a great time. Coastal golf remains my favourite style of course and would always be my first choice, in saying that a recent visit to The Links at Fancourt, South Africa gave an instant entry to my personal top 5. Must have played close to 1,000 courses now and love sharing my thoughts on the Top 100 website, which is the best source around to research courses and opinions.
Aldeburgh is difficult to dislike in anyway at all. In a similar way to nearby Thorpeness, Aldeburgh looks beautiful and golf played here from the spongy turf is a real p...
This course thoroughly deserves it's GEM status, in fact it must be close to having a ranking. I played on a bright April morning and enjoyed the course and my round tota...
There are few mixed reviews of the course below and I have come away not a lover or a hater of it. The average reviewer score is a 5-ball and that is how I determined my...
Hollinwell is not a good course – it is an absolutely fantastic one. Very rarely has a course kept my interest on every shot, on every hole and I have played around 80 of...
I like Lindrick and had a lovely spring day’s golf there. The course is coming to life and the harsh UK winter is waving goodbye. The gorse is starting to bloom and I rea...
A decent course rather a really great one. The mention of Surrey and golf gets most people weak at the knees as the quality is high and the list on this site has sixteen...
Very natural, very memorable and an enjoyable golf course. I received a warm welcome in and around the clubhouse prior to playing which is always welcome especially after...
The only negative is that there are two par-3’s in the first three holes – more unusual than negative maybe. Golf at the Addington is everything that is great about the g...
Playing the Asia course is an enjoyable experience. Bit of a strange start though with an uphill par-5 that is SI-1 (and a pretty comfortable par 5 to be honest). The hol...
I returned after three years to play Stoke Park and had a really enjoyable time. The off course facilities are immaculate with service and attention to detail as good as...
Great thing about the course here is that it is a great test and not too busy. Course condition in 2008 has been better than my last visit (2005) and although there are b...
It is difficult to call this a bad course but it is not really a very good course either. The fairways are big and wide, the bunkering is big and the greens are big too....
Abridge is a good course but not quite in the very good category. There is a great clubhouse atmosphere and a healthy membership but the course sort of echoes Essex golf...
Expectations for me were high prior to the visit and I was not disappointed - I like this course a lot. The Spey Valley area with the abundance of heather and being withi...
Well worth playing – the course starts with some familiar looking Spanish holes with umbrella pines all around. After playing the par-3 4th it is all change and off to a...
A good inland course that is well off the main tourist run. Around two hours north from Alicante, Valencia is not home to the usual holidaying golfers seen further south....
As an example of a tree lined tight driving course that is as pretty as a picture, look no further than the Duchess course. I played in August 2008 (have now played about...
I have played the course twice now, once in 2006 and once in 2008. There have been some changes to the course that have improved my impression of it. The second hole has...
This is the fourth time I have played the course and not many courses improve on each visit but Bearwood Lakes certainly does. A few years ago the rough was too rough – t...
