I've played golf for around 40 years now, mainly around GB&I but have travelled extensively in the last 15 years to play and have had a great time. Coastal golf remains my favourite style of course and would always be my first choice, in saying that a recent visit to The Links at Fancourt, South Africa gave an instant entry to my personal top 5. Must have played close to 1,000 courses now and love sharing my thoughts on the Top 100 website, which is the best source around to research courses and opinions.
Fantastic - really enjoyed this heathland beauty. The change in elevation on several holes is evident as early as the 2nd and 3rd holes, two great par 4's - one uphill an...
Both courses at The Berkshire are quality with the Red being my favourite, but only just. It is well known that the area around Surrey/Berks has some of the very best hea...
Earlier this year I played and posted a review for the Cornelia course in Turkey and thought it was the best new European course for a while. Well after my round at Monte...
Copt Heath is well worth a visit; it is a very green and lush surrounding and is a joyful setting. The course is flat but do not be fooled as there are many tough holes....
Currently the baby of the Vilamoura courses, the Arnold Palmer design opened in 2004 and was granted the golf World Cup event in 2005. From 2007 until 2010, the new Europ...
Vilamoura has a really nice feel to the place, five courses are open and the Millennium was the fourth. First couple of holes are new and look new; holes 3 through 7 are...
The Old course has a brilliant start with a downhill par-4, an uphill par-5 and a picturesque par-3 at the 4th hole. The setting is through the trees that are so familiar...
The South course is one of the ‘big’ courses in the area and one of my personal choices when I am in the Algarve. The course has always been a quality venue (Portuguese O...
Some people have the North course ahead of the South at Quinta do Lago…not for me but it is close though. Accuracy from the tee is key as many of the holes have dog-leg d...
Played at Finca Cortesin after seeing some promotion at the Open Championship at Carnoustie and thought I would give it a try. The course is very young but the early sign...
Good honest parkland course with a fair hint of quality. It is predominantly at its best in the summer but that must be true about many inland park courses. Fantastic gre...
Going to be impossible to say anything that has not been said before. This is a very special place obviously and yes you can feel it all around the course and the town. F...
Looks like there are around twenty courses in Fife that are featured on the Top 100 website and I imagine most visitors would not have Scotscraig on their itinerary as th...
My third visit to Carnoustie and after my initial thoughts in 2003 of ‘a little ordinary in places’ I now appreciate the course so much more. Subtle magnet-like bunkerin...
In comparison to the Old course at same resort, the New is easier and that is probably because there is more room off of the tee. Around five years newer also but is stil...
An exhilarating experience playing Lundin and highly recommended. The first four holes follow the coastline and although there are some turns inland, the Firth of Forth i...
A delightful golf course that has the best Belek greens without a doubt. A lot of water to negotiate especially early in the round but this a course that I cannot believe...
The original Belek golf course; the biggest difference the National has compared to the other courses in the area is that it is golf club rather than a golf resort cours...
