I've played golf for around 40 years now, mainly around GB&I but have travelled extensively in the last 15 years to play and have had a great time. Coastal golf remains my favourite style of course and would always be my first choice, in saying that a recent visit to The Links at Fancourt, South Africa gave an instant entry to my personal top 5. Must have played close to 1,000 courses now and love sharing my thoughts on the Top 100 website, which is the best source around to research courses and opinions.
The club at Royal Norwich is on its way to centenary status but in 2019 the course has moved to the land at Weston Park, around ten miles away from the original location...
My last visit to Denham was at least 25 years ago, when those IT supplier golf days were aplenty, and Denham was part of that rota to host them. In those days my scoring...
Puttenham has been around forever but in terms of any rankings, it has flown way under the radar. Not a course that is well known from too far away from the club but I sa...
It is always fairly easy to write course reviews when things are good to very good. Not so easy when the words will be negative but to get the balance between courses tha...
In a similar vein to my recent words for La Manga’s West course – the North is not looking at its best at the moment therefore my previous 4-ball rating has to drop a lit...
First and foremost, I am fan of the La Manga Club and visit annually and the West is my favourite of the three courses. Right now though there are plenty of issues with t...
This is my third posted review for Villamartin the previous two from 2007 and 2017. The style of course remains ‘old school’ and as I previously reported a very strong me...
My second round at La Finca and my words from the review below from 2017 are still pretty much as I would write again now. What I would say in 2019, we have a much better...
During my recent visit to the Alicante/Murcia area I played eight courses and the most improved by someway was Las Ramblas. Anyone that knows Ramblas will be aware that t...
The original course on the site was opened in 2011 but due to a number of issues around ownership and financial issues was allowed to become un-loved and un-played. New o...
It feels that Thorpe Hall flies a little under the radar in terms of awareness and is only really known by those in the locale or the visiting golfer from other Essex clu...
The course at Highgate, North London is not that well known outside of the area. It is a fantastic club with a decent course and one that visitors should seek out to play...
Bush Hill Park was the closest golf course to my home when growing up and I played here many times as a junior and also later in life when hosting golf days at the club....
The course at Stowmarket is decent and worth a visit but do set your expectations beforehand. This is a very strong members club with a number of returning groups each ye...
The Centurion has been open around six years and this week I had my fourth visit. Like most courses, they need time to mature, develop and bed-in and that growing period...
As you get older, there is a perception that time passes quicker and quicker with every year – I can only agree with that as it is already two years since the opening of...
Four years between playing visits at Harewood Downs and we now have a seriously up-graded golf course. In the last year there has been significant bunker work carried out...
I was surprisingly impressed with the Valley course at Barnham Broom. A very interesting design with plenty of strong holes – with a little extra care and investment into...
After my first visit to Valderrama back in 2008 and five more rounds since then, I think my latest in March 2019 gave me the total satisfaction that I had always wanted h...
Lahinch is a world-ranked course and a world-class experience and this year will host the Irish Open in July. I have played the course four times now since 2005 and appre...
