I am an 10-handicap member of Les Mielles in Jersey, where I am lucky enough to be able to regularly play some great golf both on the island and in France. I'm a traditional links golf addict and have an unofficial challenge with a good friend to play all classic links courses in Britain in a few weeks per year, of course using the Top 100 Golf Courses and its informed users as our Bible!
If I could only play at one golf course for the rest of my life it would have to be Royal Dornoch (gorse controversy not withstanding) – maybe one day I would birdie Foxy?

Near lovely St Ives, the drive to get to West Cornwall ("Lelant") golf course is slightly unprepossessing. However, after the slightly strange downhill par 3 first the cha...
The cliche is that you have to play the Old Course several times in order to give it a fair rating, and even then it's not “all that”.I (somewhat) respectfully disagree,...
We played Carlisle in March this year on the way up to Scotland, it's ideally placed and we really enjoyed our round.Excellent value, very friendly members, and some good...
"Talkin Tarn", Brampton is a very sporty course and lots of fun so long as you remember to pack your sense of humour and engage your brain as well as your biceps.Have pla...
Played the Victoria a few years ago, so not a current review on conditioning, but we found the course essentially fine but lacking in magic with the routing through a hou...
This is a review of having played San Lorenzo a few years ago, so can't comment on the current condition, but interesting to see that many of our observations are still c...
We played Duke's in early April on a whim since we arrived a day early in St Andrews, and ringing the club house got a great price for a game.Nice bag tag, and a quick ro...
