I'm an Australian who has been fortunate enough to live in a few different countries and to have been able to travel widely throughout the world with my job and on holidays. My golf sticks pretty much always go with me and at last count I've been able to experience life and golf in 68 different countries and played about 600 different courses (315 of those in Australia, including all of the top 100 public access courses).
Even though I know it's highly unlikely, I love the thought of trying to play golf in every country in the world with a golf course - it's a long, long term goal.
My excuse for my 13 handicap is that I'm still working full time. My favourite golf courses include the rather diverse: Prestwick, Barnbougle Dunes, Paa-Ko Ridge, all the courses at St Andrews, and NSW Golf Club.
Loved it. Played on a warm, sunny afternoon with the dapled light filtering down through the trees. Didn't have to wait on the group in front and we kept at least two sh...
Plenty to like about this links set along the Turkish Mediterranean coastline. The only real thing missing for a genuine links is the firm sandy turf, but everything else...
Black Rocks is a resort style course designed to be the centre point of a large scale hotel, restaurant and housing development, from the same company that developed New...
I've played this course on and off for the past 15 years and it's looking as good as it ever has circa late 2021. The relatively standard suburban parkland course has und...
A championship resort course on the Sunshine Coast that makes heavy use of water hazards and bunkering. The hazards are almost always in play making any poor shots costly...
A resort course that is not home to championships or large ad budgets, but has a level of longevity on the Sunshine Coast. It also had better conditions than its higher r...
An above average suburban course with lush fairways and well kept surrounds. Plenty of mature trees, natural rough and hazards but not difficult. Quite a popular course...
There's a quaint 'old school' feel to playing at Kingston Beach; something familiar and welcoming. The clubhouse certainly wouldn't look out of place much closer to the h...
A quaint and completely unpretentious golf club, hidden away in a mature northern Tasmanian eucalypt forest. An absolutely splendid walk through the towering trees to inv...
It's hard to know what to expect when travelling to a par 3 course: will it be a bit 'mickey mouse' or will it be a decent golf course, just shorter? Does it cater to onl...
Right from the start I need to correct some of the marketing waffle related to this course: it is not a links course, nor a links-style course. Unless of course you're ar...
Another spectacular links course on Tasmania's northern coastline and adjacent to Barnbougle Dunes. If the Dunes next door is a 6-ball world class gem, then this is a ver...
I'm fortunate that my parents live in Hobart, so travelling there regularly means I have the chance to play golf around Hobart regularly. Tasmania GC and RH are the stars...
I'm going to call this a 9-ish hole links course set along the coast at the edge of Currie township. 9-ish, due to the different tees, fairways and greens employed to pro...
Well it says 'waters' in the name so I guess it 'does what is says on the tin': the course is built on native swamp land so there certainly are red stakes everywhere. Ins...
I played Killara before the renovations so can't comment on the effect they've had. The course is a private suburban members club with a parkland style course surrounded...
As a former resident of Port Stephens I've had the good fortune to play Pacific Dunes a number of times over the years, from shortly after it opened up to most recently l...
This is a great links style course set beside the ocean on the Central Coast of NSW. Access is only available to members and resort guests so not as easy to get on as mos...
A younger parkland course in Canberra's northern suburbs, with plenty of lakes and creeks in play as it's name would suggest. The design is interesting but conditioning u...
A parkland course that when it opened had a resort style feel, located in the northern suburbs of Canberra. Time has taken it's toll though and the facilities and course...
