I'm a member of Holston Hills Country Club in Knoxville Tennessee. Holston is an old Donald Ross layout that is essentially unchanged from its original design over 75 years ago. I usually play between a 1 to a 5 handicap and enjoy playing in local and statewide tournaments. I fell in love with links golf on my first trip to the UK in 1980, and I've had the privilege of playing all of the current and past venues of the Open Championship, having completed the rotation several years ago when I was able to play Musselburgh Old. I'm trying to branch out and play as many top courses as possible and will try my best to give an honest and interesting review of the courses I play.

This is probably one of the more disappointing links courses I've played. It may be that the surrounding courses (North Berwick, Gullane 1 & 2, Dunbar, and Muirfield) are...

Kingsbarns 19/11/2005

2nd Fife - Best in Area 7th Scotland Ranking 16th Britain & Ireland Ranking 43rd World Ranking
Although Kingsbarns is a fine links, I would not rate it nearly so high as this list does. First of all, even though it less than 10 years old, the course does have the...
