Ethan Fisher
I'm Ethan Fisher and I'm currently a college junior at Eastern Kentucky University aspiring to be a PGA club professional upon graduation. My very youthful career in the golf business has taken me to The Golf Club at Bear Dance in Larkspur, Colorado, ranked as the 37th best course in Colorado, as well as the Southern Ohio PGA section where I set up and operated golf tournaments across the area. I was born and raised just outside of Colorado's capital, Denver, and learned to play golf there when I picked up a club for the first time in 2008. I fell in love with the sport and have been on a quest with the game since then. My pipe dreams are to play the Top 100 courses in the US and tee it up on the #1 ranked club in each state, and eventually see some of the world's greatest courses on other continents. For now, I'm simply enjoying the journey and trying to see as many different golf courses as possible. My personal favorites to this point are Olympia Fields Country Club in suburban Chicago, Illinois, Arrowhead Golf Club in Littleton, Colorado, and Arrowhead Pointe in Elberton, Georgia.
The Walker Course is a wonderful spot to tee it up. Very close to the Clemson campus on the front, but also steps away from the lake on the back, so you get two completel...
An extremely good course. Very nearly worth 5 golf balls. Best part about it is the amount of width and angles. A drastic miss into the native grass is the only thing tha...
Persimmon Ridge just wears you out with the same sort of features over and over. 5-11 is exhausting as you get seven straight par 4's thrown at you that are on the tough...
Before I get to the golf course, the staff here provides the most luxurious vibe I've ever experienced at a facility. I felt very fortunate to get the opportunity to play...
Unfortunately due to overseeding, I was unable to play the Oaks when I visited TPC San Antonio, but playing the Canyon was still very enjoyable in its own right. I loved...
Rating Memorial Park all depends on what you're comparing it to. If you are looking at it purely as a public, city-owned golf course, it's outstanding. The conditioning i...
There is absolutely no width on this golf course. It is the place that convinced me that trees on a golf course are generally bad. There's only one way to play each hole,...
This is a very interesting facility, first and foremost. Driving into the parking lot, it looks like a goat track with a bumpy, basic parking lot, and a pro shop operatin...
The Member Course has a completely different personality than the Tournament. This course is laid right out in front of you and a bit narrower than its sister course. Som...
I have maintained for the last few years that Arrowhead Pointe might be one of the most underrated courses in the US. A little public course in the middle of nowhere righ...
I would critique the blurb for this course a tiny bit when it comes to the final four holes. 15 is a wonderful long par 3, 17 is a good risk/reward par 5 off the tee, and...
The most striking thing about the Woodlands Tournament course to me are some of the green complexes. The 11th has one of the most fun greens I've ever played, with a mass...
Plum Creek was on the verge of shutting down several years ago because of bankruptcy, and it was very clear to see how seeing the condition of the course back in 2012 or...
You're hard-pressed to find a more scenic course that's not alongside a body of water than Arrowhead. Holes 10-14 make up a great stretch of golf where you get to play th...
Golf Digest has given Wasioto Winds some national recognition in the past, and I can see why. I think this course can be separated in a real easy way: water holes versus...
I find the fact Tobacco Road to be rated as "poor" by some and "excellent" by others to be a big compliment to Mr. Strantz. To me, I now consider it to be the best golf c...
The one thing I will say about Pinehurst #2 right off the bat is that it is the most enjoyable golf course to walk I've ever trotted. It looks hilly and harsh to walk on...
Valhalla is an outstanding place. The clubhouse is magnificent. Probably the most beautiful I've ever come across. As for the course itself, it's a real treat. Lots of di...
It really surprises me that Glen Mills is only 40th in the state rankings. I played with 2 gentlemen who both agreed this is the best public golf course in the Philadelph...
I think before the real estate boom that took place in Castle Rock, this would have been one of the most scenic courses in Colorado. That's not the reality now, however,...
