I like playing different golf courses and holidaying in fabulous locations around the world playing the game. I also enjoy reviewing golf courses that I have played and comparing my reflections with others. My life target is to play 1000 separate golf courses, and I hope to reach 750 in 2022. I use the ‘Top 100 Golf Courses’ website as my guide so that I only play at good quality locations.
My handicap is 14 at Hankley Common, Surrey, UK and I also have membership rights at Gleneagles in Scotland and Simola in South Africa.

We last played the New Course at San Roque about 5 years ago, loved the layout and felt that it was an ideal second course on the Estate to the well known Old Course.But...
A feature of some new golf courses in the last 30 years, is that the designer has been asked to construct a course in unfriendly and yet awe-inspiring locations, mainly o...
I have been spending British winters in the Western Cape of South Africa since 2009 with a house on the Simola Golf Estate for that time, so the golf course, it’s strengt...
Knysna’s golf course has been in existence well before the Garden Route became a golfers’ haven and ‘resort’ courses were the norm. It’s traditional Golf Club has a large...

Pezula is an incredibly scenic golf course on the southernmost cliffs of the African continent with huge elevation changes and some remarkable golfing challenges. And yet...
Oubaai is Ernie Els first solo golf course design and one very close to his family home, as can be seen by the number of Els family members displayed on the Club’s honour...
‘Old’ George is a throwback to many typical English parkland courses built in the early part of the 20th Century. George Golf Club was established in1906, but golf has on...

Ernie Els has designed Anahita over a large expanse of gently undulating land adjoining the Indian Ocean. The course is in many ways similar to his first solo design at O...
The Links course at Belle Mare Plage complements the older Legend at the same tropical location to make an ideal two-course venue for the holiday golfer, who is staying i...
We played the Legends Course on a very windy day just hours before the arrival of Cyclone Batsirai. Due to the fact that a former reporter had suggested we play off more...
