I am a 10-handicap member of Les Mielles in Jersey and am on the waiting list to join La Moye Golf Club which I’m hoping to get into within the next few years. I am on the border of being a golf fanatic and play as many qualifying competitions as I can. As others from Jersey have alluded to, it is quite difficult for us to travel to play other courses as we have to get across the water first!
I don’t really have a favourite type of course and like to take each course on its own merits, however I do tend to prefer courses which have some elevation changes or are a little bit quirky. For example, I found Royal Liverpool, whilst absolutely pristine, a little bit flat and bland for my liking whereas others would enjoy and appreciate the technical and strategic aspects of the course. I think that you can also rely on me to give an impartial review, even if I’ve played terribly at the course (which is most of the time)!
If I won the lottery, I would try and play as many new courses as I possibly could whilst having a happy family at home. At the moment, my two favourite courses so far have been Wolf Creek in Mesquite and St George’s Hill.

We played Parkstone at the beginning of June on a dull but nice warm day. What a fantastic golf course it is. It reminded me a little bit of St George’s Hill that we play...
