This is the third biennial chart release for countries in Britain and Ireland. Over the past few weeks we’ve reported on Northern Ireland and Wales and now it’s the turn of England, where we actually feature more than 500 courses across thirty-six regional listings. The 100 layouts ranked below represent the crème de la crème of a very strong golfing nation which extends to more than 1800 golf courses.
241 courses in Britain and Ireland made our version two (v2) Real Links list. Scotland has more than any other country, 100 in total, with 62 in Ireland (50 in the Republic and 12 in the North), 56 in England, 19 in Wales and 4 on three separate islands.
This is the 8th edition of our English Top 100, a ranking that we have published every two years since 2006. The list won't please everybody, but it’s a considered attempt to reflect the crème de la crème across the country.
This is the third of seven regional re-ranking reports for England. In this article we look at three counties – Cheshire, Cumbria and Lancashire – in the North West of the country.
Welcome to the latest 2018 edition of our Top 100 for England. We first published an English Top 100 more than a decade ago and this is our 7th biennial ranking list for the nation that continues to hide its golfing light under a bushel.
We’re over halfway through our English regional updates and this article for England’s North West area is the fourth of seven releases. This is where you’ll find England’s Golf Coast, the finest stretch of linksland in the country...
