Tom Fazio stands as one of America's most influential golf course architects and designers, having designed or reworked more than 200 golf courses worldwide over six decades. His career in golf architecture began in 1962 when, as a teenager in Norristown in the northwestern suburbs of Philadelphia, he entered the business of golf course architecture assisting his uncle George in course construction. His on-the-job training and experience gave him intimate knowledge in engineering, landscape design, soils, accounting and business.
