The final words on Indura Beach's layout Indura Beach layout is from the architect Gary Player: "we sought to create a beautiful golf course with championship quality which would let guests enjoy the best of Honduras such as beach, jungle along with the lagoons. The most important thing was to design a course which will be enjoyable for anyone of any level playing."
Jeff Lawrence, senior designer at Gary Player Design, kindly gave the following information:
An easy approach to selection of grass was used to create an environment that is sustainable and sustainable in the parameters technical of soils and the water. So, 75 acres of play areas are carpeted with pamplum.
The equivalent of 1.2 million cubic meters of material were transported during construction. More than half of the area was previously below the water's level and we had to fill the majority areas of golf courses in order to ensure it was hydraulically sound.
The entire area was sand and sand-based, which is why we built new lagoons to make the fill needed to raise fairways. The cut material and fill was weighed and sorted to ensure maximum efficiency and cost savings.
We incorporated all the natural elements of the property (beach/dune, lagoon & jungle) to give a diversity and demonstrate how golf and nature can coexist positively to enhance the overall ecosystem.
The most important design elements are large fairways that have receptive contours huge bunkers that frame, define and highlight and a widened lagoon that encourages wildlife, and broad buffer zones between jungle and golf courses that protect wildlife.
