Iron Horse

Iron Horse is one of a number of exclusive Discovery Land developments dotted around the country – including Estancia in Arizona, Vaquero in Texas, Mountaintop in North Carolina and Kuki’o in Hawaii – and it boasts, just like all the others, a wonderful Tom Fazio-designed layout.

The course lies in a remote part of the country, in the northwest corner of Montana, and the bluegrass fairways are laid out on the slopes of Big Mountain, close to Whitefish Lake, where fairways rise and fall with regularity as they weave through a forest of Firs and Tamaracks.

More notable holes at Iron Horse include the long par five 6th (which plays to a tricky raised green), the downhill par three 7th (where the green is protected by three small sand traps) and the short par four 17th, with its awkwardly cambered fairway.
