Country Club of Louisiana
Fairways at the Country Club of Louisiana are laid out around residential units with several holes routed alongside Selene Bayou. Unusually for a Jack Nicklaus design, five of the greens are totally devoid of any sand protection.
Notable holes include the 172-yard 6th (a replica of the 16th at Augusta National, where water fronts a small green), the 402-yard 8th (with water protecting the front of the green and sand lurking at the back) and the short par four 16th, where a creek cuts in from the left, across the front of the smallest green on the course.
First opened for play in 1986, the layout underwent a major renovation in 2013 when greens were replaced with Mini Verde Bermuda grass and bunkers were completely overhauled by Louisiana native Mark Meijer, a former associate at Nicklaus Design.
