Mieminger Plateau (Championship)

The 27-hole complex at Golfpark Mieminger Plateau lies at the foot of the imposing Mieminger Range, at altitude of around 900 meters above sea level. Due to the success of the 9-hole hotel course which debuted in 2002, the 18-hole Championship layout was unveiled six years later, set out in a nearby pine forest.

The air is crisp and clear here, with panoramic views extending east over the Inn Valley and west to the Ötztal and Lechtal Alps. If Alpine golf is what you’re looking for then Mieminger Plateau fits the bill in every respect – just remember to visit between April and October, otherwise you’ll be skiing here and not golfing.

Architect Keith Preston sent us this snippet regarding a more recent modification to one of the holes:

The 13th was recently changed from a long par four to a short par five. Every hole on the course is tree lined, so with danger lurking on both sides, the fairways were kept relatively clear of hazards.

However, the 13th had quite a wide and level landing area and the idea was brought up that it would be possible to put in a water feature there. As a long par four this would have made the hole extremely difficult so we moved the tee back into the trees to make it a very playable par five, giving the course a total par of 73.
