Austria

OK, so landlocked Austria has a few stereotypical images: the Sound of Music, Lederhosen, and yodelling spring directly to mind, but the reality is that Austria has few peers as an all-year-round holiday destination.

  1. Adamstal Golf Club (Championship)

Adamstal is one of the world's most beautiful golf courses and it's certainly one of Austria's very best. The Alpine mountain air is clean and crisp and the wooded, undulating valley setting is simply breathtaking.

  2. Fontana

    Austria

    Fontana

Located to the south of Vienna on the edge of the spa town of Baden lies the prestigious Fontana Golf & Country Club.

  3. Colony Club Gutenhof (West)

Colony Club Gutenhof is located a mere 10 kilometres to the south of Vienna and this was Austria's first 36-hole golf club.

  4. Schloss Schönborn (1-18)

    All Areas, Austria

    Schloss Schönborn (1-18)

The 27-hole Schloss Schönborn complex is set in the heart of the Austrian wine region and it has the most impressive manor clubhouse.

  5. Gut Altentann

Gut Altentann is the Austrian course that Ron Kirby and Jack Nicklaus built in 1988 and it’s set on the outskirts of Mozart’s hometown, Salzburg. This was the Golden Bear’s first European ensemble.

  6. Murhof

    Austria

    Murhof

Golf Club Murhof is set most enchantingly and Bernhard von Limburger designed it in 1963 when few locals were interested in golf.

  7. Diamond Country Club (Diamond)

There are two courses at Diamond Country Club, the Country and the Diamond. The Country course is a fragmented and rather simple affair, but the main Diamond course is the real thing.

  8. Mondsee

    Austria

    Mondsee

Golfclub Am Mondsee lies to the south of the town of Mondsee, where farmland was converted to a golf course in 1986 when the owner decided to discontinue an unprofitable beef production business...

  9. Linz St Florian

British architect Donald Harradine designed the course at Golf Club Linz St. Florian and it's set in the Tillysburg Estate on rolling land.

  10. Seefeld-Wildmoos

Seefeld-Wildmoos – the wild thing – is one of the most exhilarating golf courses in Europe. Perched 4,000 feet above sea level and dominated by the Alps.
