Prince of Wales Country Club was founded in 1925 in honour of the monarch whose reign as King of the United Kingdom lasted less than a year before he abdicated. The short but tight course has hosted numerous regional and national events including the Tour’s Chile Classic from 2012-14.

Occupying a compact area of around 110 acres, the course can be extended to 6,904 yards, with par set at 72. Holes are arranged as returning nines, each of which concludes with a par five that plays to a green positioned on either side of a little lake in front of the clubhouse.

Highlights include the first of the par three holes at the 4th in the southeast corner of the property, played to a heavily bunkered green, and the slightly right doglegging par four 8th which might present the best chance of a birdie on the front nine.

On the inward half, the last (and longest) of the par threes at the 15th is a real test measuring more than 220 yards from the back tees, and the left bending 18th is a tough way to end the round, with the home green protected by water to the front right of the putting surface.
