Occupying a property of around 180 acres, the layout measures 6,1615 metres from the back markers, with holes arranged as two returning nines, each of which concludes with a par five back to the clubhouse. Water hazards come into play occasionally. On the front nine, an irrigation lake protects the front left of the par five 2nd and the same body of water has to be carried between tee and green at the par three 3rd. On the back nine, more ponds feature on the par three 11th, the par four 15th and the 486-metre 18th, where water defends the front and left of the home green.
Other non-aquatic highlight holes include the slightly uphill, left doglegging par four 6th (rated stroke index 1) with out of bounds to the right of the fairway and three large sand traps guarding the green; the severely right bending par four 10th which rises gently to a huge green circled by sand; and the373-metre 17th, turning gently left to the target off the tee, with out of bounds to the right of the fairway
World Top 100 Golf Courses
The latest ranking of the Top 100 Golf Courses in the World serves as the ultimate global golf bucket list. Most members of our World Top 100 Panel are seasoned golfers, each playing 20-30 of these courses annually while travelling extensively over decades to form their opinions on others. We recognise that opinions vary—even among our panel members. Rankings are subjective, and there are undoubtedly 50 or more courses in the UK and USA alone that could easily fit onto this list.
