Royal Bled (Lake’s)
The first golf course was in play on the course at Royal Bled in 1937, when Yugoslavian King Aleksander Karadordevic commissioned a 9-hole course to entertain the sports of his guests at his summer home. Donald Harradine redesigned the layout in 1972, and Gerard as well as Gunter Hauser redesigned the 9-hole Lake's course in the early 1990s.
The course is laid out in a forest towards the southwest of the course, it measures approximately 3,000m starting from back tees with a par of 36. The water comes in play on second hole, a par 4, hole and 9th hole, which has beautiful ponds that are situated on the front of the adjacent greens on these two holes downhill.
Plenty of space is near the Lake's and one day, the course can be enlarged to make the 18-hole course which was originally drawn up on the board. At present, a visit to the King's course is complete without playing here as it's an intimate experience of golf. You'll discover that you're the only one playing.
