San Eliseo
The Argentine golfing maestro Roberto De Vicenzo was involved in the course design here at San Eliseo Golf & Country Club. Measuring 7,051 yards from the tips, it’s a challenging layout built to USGA specifications.
Located sixty kilometres south of Buenos Aires city centre, the 18-hole layout at San Eliseo is routed around a substantial housing development where the golf facilities are complemented by a sports complex offering tennis courts, swimming pool, gymnasium and an indoor sports hall.
The course is set out as two returning nines – each of which concludes with a par five – and water comes into play at more than half the holes as fairways weave around small man-made bodies of water that were excavated during construction to provide spoil for shaping.
Highlight holes include the tough par four 3rd (which wraps around a large pond to the right of the fairway); the par three 8th (with an offset green protected by both sand and water); and the par three 17th, where the tee shot is played to a peninsula green.
World Top 100 Golf Courses
The latest ranking of the Top 100 Golf Courses in the World serves as the ultimate global golf bucket list. Most members of our World Top 100 Panel are seasoned golfers, each playing 20-30 of these courses annually while travelling extensively over decades to form their opinions on others. We recognise that opinions vary—even among our panel members. Rankings are subjective, and there are undoubtedly 50 or more courses in the UK and USA alone that could easily fit onto this list.
