An 1994 Golf Data design The course at Strand Golf Club lies inland from Strand Beach at False Bay. The fairways that are lined with trees along the first nine run around a few tiny water hazards. A tunnel leads golfers to the other side of the road to play seven additional open holes starting from 11th through 17th. The tunnel brings golfers back for their round at the side that is the clubhouse.

Its length is 5,960m and a course that plays with a par 72 which includes the course featuring two par-threes as well as two fives for each nine. The most memorable holes are the par six 6th (rated with a stroke index of 2) which is an out of bounds hole. is located to the fairway's left and a pond is located in the front on the left side of the fairway. The back nine holes #13, #14, and #17 are extremely difficult holes that are played around two sparkling lakes.

The club was the host of an event called the South African Women's Stroke Play and Match Play championships in 2004 the year that 14-year-old Ashleigh Simon was the winner of both events. She is now married and referred to by the name Mrs. Buhai, Ashleigh turned professional on her 18th birthday, and has since won numerous times in the Ladies European Tour.
