Tulsa Country Club is the second oldest course in the state of Oklahoma, dating back to 1920 when A.W. Tillinghast set out the fairways. It’s been much modified down the years, most notably by Jay Morrish.

A.W. Tillinghast made several notable contributions to the Tulsa golf scene, one of which was his route at Tulsa Country Club. Players at the course will recognize his intimidating bunker style, which makes itself especially well-known during the course’s final three holes. No. 16 in particular is an imposing take on Tillie’s Double Dogleg par five concept, guarded at the crook by a trio of score-wrecking fairway hazards.

Part of the credit for this resemblance to Tillinghast’s original product goes to Jay Morrish, a local who remodeled all of the greens during the late '80s. Rees Jones was brought in during 2011 to conduct additional restoration (following his acclaimed work at Tillie’s Bethpage Black).

Tulsa Country Club is the second-oldest golf club in Oklahoma and looks to maintain its relevance as it enters its second century.
