Set out on the north bank of the Danube river, half an hour’s drive south of Bratislava, the course at Golf Club Welten occupies land that was once the property of Count Rudolf Wiener Welten. The state took over in 1948, converting the manor house to retirement home and then a social care institution, but everything was returned to the original owner’s daughter in 1996.

The state took over the course in 1948 and transformed the manor house into a retirement residence and later social care facility however, everything was handed back to the daughter of the original owner in 1996.

A decade later, work began on restoring the manor and building one of the golf courses, which is 18 holes. This layout is now extended to 6,169 meters from the back markers. It is played at a par of 72. The holes are set up in two reversing nines that end on the opposite side of an enclave of a lake close to the clubhouse.

The most notable holes are the doglegging par five on the right 3rd (with the green being out of bounds to the left) as well as the equally difficult par five 9th, with water guarding the green on just to the right side of the putting area. The back nine's holes 11, through 17 are located in a separate area in the north part of the course and the slick 15th hole, a par four, being the best hole of all.
