The Loxahatchee Club was originally nominated as a gem and was added the course to the Top 100 website in May 2008 (see original nomination comments below). Since then Loxahatchee has leapt leap out of “your gems” and onto our Floridian ranking list.
Nomination comments by C Matt: "From the tips, Loxahatchee is a course to be feared. As somebody who has broken 80 at the likes of Spyglass Hill and Quaker Ridge, I’ve never been able to get around Loxahatchee in under 80, or without a double bogey. Nicklaus’s layout is superb, and this course is both brutally tough and drop-dead gorgeous."
According to Nicklaus Design, "The Loxahatchee Club was created out of the love of the game with flavourings of the olde Scottish game mingled with the finest characteristics of modern American golf". Jack Nicklaus commented: "It's one of my most imaginative courses and certainly one of the best I have ever done."

Jack Nicklaus will forever be associated with greatness on the golf course, but it’s his design work that should also be remembered in equal measure to his magnificent competitive achievements on the links.
