Architect Bill Diddel laid out the Northwood Club course in 1950, two years before it hosted the US Open. Julius Borus won that event by two shots, with only seven under-par rounds posted for the four rounds of the tournament on what was regarded as a tough Texan track.

Jay Morrish modified the course in the 1990s but it’s the new millennium renovation by Tripp Davis that has brought back many of the classical elements of the original design, none more so than through bringing into play the creek that runs through the property.

In The American Private Golf Club Guide author Daniel Wexler writes: “If one looks beyond the inflated expectations bred of a Major championship past, Northwood is a solid, mature parkland test dotted with a number of challenging holes – and a somewhat overlooked stop in the Dallas-Fort Worth region.”

Description: Six years after William Diddel constructed it, the course at Northwood Club hosted the US Open in 1952. In more recent times, Tripp Davis renovated the layout, relocating the par three 16th during the process to make way for a new practice facility. Rating: 7 out of 10 Reviews: 1

Great redesign by Tripp Davis. Fun greens where in great shape and a great ending hole. I might add this has an awesome 19th hole.
