Top 100 Golf Courses - South East France

Montpellier Massane

21st South East France - Best in Area

The Montpellier Massane Resort course gets off to a rather inauspicious start with residential units situated on either side of the first six holes but it then opens out, allowing golfers to savour a more open, rural setting for the remainder of the round.

Charmeil

22nd South East France - Best in Area

The course at Golf Hôtel Grenoble Charmeil is set on the floodplain of the River Isere so – as might be expected on such flat terrain – natural water hazards play a prominent part in proceedings as the round progresses on this entertaining layout.

Valescure

23rd South East France - Best in Area

Established in 1895, the original 9-hole Old Course at Golf & Tennis Club de Valescure was extended to 18 holes by Harry Colt in 1910. Today, measuring just over 5,000 meters from the medal tees, this delightful tree-lined layout remains much as it was over 100 years ago.

Chamonix

24th South East France - Best in Area

Lying in the shadow of Mont Blanc, the original 9-hole layout at Golf Club de Chamonix was inaugurated in 1935. It then took almost half a century before Robert Trent Jones finally expanded the course to an 18-hole track in the early 1980s.
