The Gary Player Design company has been busy on a number of projects in central Europe lately and the new Modry Las golf course in north west Poland is positive proof of its activities.

Architect Hans-Georg Erhardt moved 1,000,000 cubic metres of earth to build Rosa Golf Club. It may not be the most natural golf course but it’s certainly exciting.

First Warsaw Golf & Country Club is the most historically important club in Poland’s recent history as it was the first to begin the process of establishing Poland as a modern Central European golfing centre.

Situated less than half an hour’s drive from Poznan airport, the 18-hole layout at Black Water Links is a Caspar Grauballe design that first opened for play in 2022. Holes are routed across a gently rolling landscape with agricultural fields surrounding the development on all sides.

Opened for play in 2012, the 18-hole course at Sobienie Królewskie Golf & Country Club was laid out by the Ford Golf Design Group, which was the company responsible for designing the Prague City golf course in the Czech Republic.

Situated half an hour’s drive from Krakow city centre, the original 9-hole course at Royal Kraków Golf & Country Club was brought into play in 2001, six years after the club was founded. The conglomerate PTH Certech purchased the property in 2018 and four years later the old nine holed had been renovated and a new nine added.

First opened for business in 2010, the course at Kalinowe Pola Golf occupies part of a 75-hectare site in the heart of the charming Lubuskie Lake District. There are two distinct 9-hole loops in play here: holes 1-9 are carved through woodland while holes 10-18 are set in more open terrain.
