The Ohiya Casino Resort of the Santee Sioux Nation developed the course at Tatanka Golf Club (Tatanka, a Dakota word for buffalo), engaging architect Paul Albanese to design the layout. One commentator described the course as “Nebraska’s Sandhills with trees”.
Laid out close to the fast flowing Platte River on the site of an old rock quarry, the tree-lined fairways at Quarry Oaks Golf Club were laid out by John La Foy in 1997.
