Fashioned in the spirit of the Golden Age, the main 18-hole course at Blue Devil Golf Club opened in 2013 with plenty of width and it's the product of a collaboration between Gary Browning and Wade Horrocks when the duo were in partnership.
The golf facility lies on the flood plain of the meandering Bow River, with the main 18-hole Blue Devil layout complemented by the Lil Devil 9-hole short course which consists of par threes ranging from 50 to 175 yards, along with a couple of par fours – the design of this lesser track imitates the Blue Devil, only on a smaller scale, and it’s ideal for kids and beginners or for refining your short game.
The Blue Devil extends to 7,207 yards from the back markers, with holes laid out as two returning nines, each of which play to a par of 36. Notable holes include the short par four 6th (doglegging sharply right around a lake) and the tough 624-yard 15th (rated stroke index 1) which narrows considerably as the fairway approaches a pond-protected green.
World Top 100 Golf Courses
The latest ranking of the Top 100 Golf Courses in the World serves as the ultimate global golf bucket list. Most members of our World Top 100 Panel are seasoned golfers, each playing 20-30 of these courses annually while travelling extensively over decades to form their opinions on others. We recognise that opinions vary—even among our panel members. Rankings are subjective, and there are undoubtedly 50 or more courses in the UK and USA alone that could easily fit onto this list.
