Rockmount

Rockmount Golf Club was unveiled in May of 1995, four years after Carryduff landowners Robert and Diane Patterson first set out to construct their own 18-hole layout, when European Ryder Cup hero Darren Clarke played in a 4-ball match to mark the opening of this modern new golf facility.

One of thirty-one clubs accredited with a Golf Quality and Assurance award by the Northern Ireland Tourist Board, Rockmount is totally committed to delivering the very best visitor experience possible, with a modern clubhouse, conference room, restaurant and bar all supporting its maturing parkland course.

The layout extends to 6,410 yards from the back markers, featuring back-to-back par fives on the 5th and 6th, where water fronts the green on the second of these two long holes. On the back nine, the 397-yard 11th is regarded as the signature hole, with the approach shot having to find a green that’s located behind a substantial pond.

Since the course was first constructed, the owners have continued to add to and improve the original design so developed trees have been planted (at holes 6, 8 and 15 in particular) and new bunkers installed or existing bunkers reshaped (on holes 1, 3, 4, 6, 10 and 15). New water hazards have also been added so a ditch now crosses the 13th fairway and a small pond has been placed in front of the tees on the 14th.
