Spain is the original and arguably the best package holiday destination. It’s synonymous with Europeans who are hell bent on sun, sangria and holiday homes, yet Spain has so much more to offer with wonderful architecture, food and wine.

  1. Real Club Valderrama

    Southern Spain, Spain

    Most golfers will be familiar with Valderrama from TV coverage. The golf club has hosted a plethora of championships, including the legendary 1997 Ryder Cup. In 2014 the club was granted Royal status.

  2. Real Club de Golf Sotogrande

    Southern Spain, Spain

    Sotogrande was designed by Robert Trent Jones. It was his first European course, and it is a credit that the par 72, 6,224-metre layout is still enthralling players more than 50 years after it first opened.

    Javier Arana designed El Saler and it opened for play in 1968 to a rapturous standing ovation. In fact, shortly afterwards, it was voted the No.1 golf course in Continental Europe.

  4. Camiral (Stadium)

    North East Spain, Spain

    The Stadium course at Camiral Golf & Wellness is the culmination of more than a decade of planning by the European Tour. They wanted to build their own Players Championship course to rival the PGA's TPC Sawgrass.

  5. Real Club de Golf Las Brisas

    Southern Spain, Spain

    Real (Royal) Las Brisas was one of the first courses in Europe to use bent grass and the brave decision was quickly rewarded by being chosen as the host venue of the 1973 World Cup of Golf.

  8. Real Puerta de Hierro (Abajo)

    Real Club de la Puerta de Hierro is one of the most private golf clubs in Spain. The Arriba is one of Spain’s oldest courses but the Abajo, on the other hand, is much younger.

  9. Real Club Sevilla Golf

    Southern Spain, Spain

    Real Club de Golf de Sevilla opened for play in 1991 and in 2004 it was the host venue for the World Golf Championships (formerly the World Cup of Golf).

  10. Designed by Robert von Hagge and opened for play in 1997, the North course at Real Sociedad Hípica Española Club de Campo is one of Spain’s best courses.

  11. Real Sociedad de Golf de Neguri

    Northern Spain, Spain

    Neguri, or Real Sociedad de Golf de Neguri to give the club its full title, was originally founded way back in 1911 but today’s course was laid out in 1961 and it’s located in Getxo, a few kilometres north west of Bilbao.

  12. Real El Prat (Pink)

    The Pink course at Real Club de Golf El Prat measures around 7,000 yards from the medal tees with a par of 72. Fairways are generally wide and greens are large with subtle borrows.

    Cabell Robinson designed La Reserva and it’s a brutal 6,700 metres from the tips but with wide fairways and a hot driver it can be tamed.

    Owned and operated by the Lopesan Hotel Group, Lopesan Meloneras Golf occupies two distinct tracts; the more compact front nine lies further inland, with the back nine routed in a large loop around a future development site.
