In 1932 the founder of Nedlands Golf Club had a dream to “foster golf”, where the only qualification you needed was to be “a good bloke” and “a good sportsman”. Completely surrounded by suburbia, the club has used every metre of available land to create one of the best 9-holers in the nation.

Wanneroo

23rd Western Australia - Best in Area

Bob Green and Murray Dawson (who also fashioned the acclaimed Sun City to the north of Neerabup) designed Wanneroo Golf Club in 1973. It’s billed as “The Gem of the North” (Perth that is) and it’s hard to disagree. It’s an exacting test and former host to the Western Australian PGA Championship.

Sea View

24th Western Australia - Best in Area

There’s no denying there’s a sea view at Sea View Golf Club and it’s also the third oldest course in WA dating back to 1909. Perhaps more surprising is that Sea View is a links course, albeit a 9-holer, which was originally discovered underneath a dense thicket of overgrown coastal scrub.

Capel

Formed in 1928, Capel Golf Club initially operated from Tren Creek before moving three years later to the Capel racecourse. In 1964, the club upped sticks and relocated to a site just off the Bussell Highway in Stratham, where it remains to this day.
