Republic of Ireland Top 100 Golf Courses Ranking Update
The Republic of Ireland is an interesting ranking. Northern Ireland has higher highs but the depth in the Republic is bettered only by England and Scotland.
With roughly 20 courses vying for a spot in the GB&I Top 100 Ranking, it's a major contributor to the Region Ranking. Four courses are included in the World Top 100. The highs are high and the depth is impressive with a Top 20 that can more than hold its own against the powerhouses across the Irish Sea.

Ranking Update Takeaways
With so much movement, one must remember that some of the movement is not due to individual courses necessarily falling behind. This ranking was particularly affected by the new guidance.
We see similar results as Wales where shorter, quirky, and exciting courses rise. Exciting golf, not just pristine resort golf (which has its place) is favoured.
As we don't take resorts, clubhouses, or amenities into account, many of the bigger names on the list that come with all the trimmings took a hit.
Ones to Watch
Rosapenna Old Tom Morris had positive feedback and seems to be growing in the minds of many, breaking into the Top 30.
Royal Dublin breaks into the Top 20 with recent bunker work pushing it upwards.
Jameson might have found its spot, or perhaps as the changes bed in it will rise once again.
Ballybunion Cashen is having work done, and no doubt they will be keen to see that pay off.
