Nowadays, the course is completely hemmed in by housing and it’s a minor miracle that eighteen holes still manage to exist within a very constricted 80-acre property. The course extends to 6,045 metres from the back tees, playing to a par of 71 (35 out then 36 in), with holes arranged as two returning nines.
Highlights here include the right doglegging par four 2nd (with water to the right of the green); the slightly uphill par three 7th (with more water to carry in front of the green); the par four 13th (where four bunkers lie in wait behind the green); and par three 17th which requires a tee shot carry across a sizeable pond to the green.
World Top 100 Golf Courses
The latest ranking of the Top 100 Golf Courses in the World serves as the ultimate global golf bucket list. Most members of our World Top 100 Panel are seasoned golfers, each playing 20-30 of these courses annually while travelling extensively over decades to form their opinions on others. We recognise that opinions vary—even among our panel members. Rankings are subjective, and there are undoubtedly 50 or more courses in the UK and USA alone that could easily fit onto this list.
